The food at Plaka is absolutely delicious and fresh. All dishes are made to order so nothing is sitting around under hot lamps . Definitely a must when you're in east elmhurst !

Delicious, delightful warm friendly. Healthy Mediterranean menu especially seafood . Warm familial atmosphere.

Service: Excellent! Food: Excellent. We had the branzino whole fish and the broiled filet of sole. Delicious and healthy! We'll be coming back!

Service is a little slow, but outside of Astoria Plaka is a well-managed family restaurant with good food. We ordered chicken noodle soup, spinach pie, and a chicken souvlaki platter with lemon potatoes. You can't go wrong with that. Perhaps we might come back?

Finally had the chance to try this place out, and we ordered take out. And boy, we're we impressed by the seafood combination entree. The octopus was so tender and grilled to perfection, wow wow wow. The calamari itself was just as tender, the veggies on the bottom were a great touch. The lemon potatoes were probably the best lemon potatoes I ever had in my life and I'm not exaggerating on that!! The chicken soulvaki with rice was amazing and I would prefer if they gave a little more sauce and perhaps wrap the bread in aluminum foil rather a parchment paper. I will be ordering from this place more often to try out what other dishes they have to offer :)

I came here for dinner one night after I forgot to eat all day at work! The waitress was really attentive and she was able to assist me in making a quick decision because the kitchen was closing soon. I ordered a few apps which was a bit expensive but I had a bunch of to-go meals which I ate throughout the week. The gigantes were delicious. Probably one of the best things on the menu. I didn't care for the zuchinni patties. I tried so hard to like them but they were too salty for my tastebuds. The sauce it came with wasn't my cup of tea, so the waitress gave me their tzaziki sauce which also tasted a bit salty. I tried using my own sauce at home, but the patties were still too salty for my palate. I also got their eggplant and pita and they went well together. I'll definitely be back to try more of their food or do a repeat of the gigantes! The ambiance is quite nice. I especially like sitting close to the entrance near the double doors that open out to the patio. It's perfect on a breezy day. Happy eats!

Ate here today to try this place out for the first time by myself on a hot Saturday afternoon while walking around the neighborhood to enjoy the nice weather. The food I had ordered, got and ate was both the gyro sandwich with onions and white sauce and a side of french fries. The service there was extremely good and super friendly that I didn't feel rushed to get my orders right including the nice waitress who served me seemed nice and attentive. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)
